For the past 3 years, Betty, A friend of mine from Delaware, bought me a subscription to "A Taste Of Home" magazine. Since then we've created dozens of recipies. We just got the new issue this week and in it was a page with a recipe kids made up. I was amazed so I read it through. I showed Christopher and said we can make them for this Thanksgiving.
Christopher enjoys making cookies with Grandad so I just knew he'd like to make these. Sometimes, I'm just like a kid and get excited about making things and this is one of those times.
It just so happened that we were going grocery shopping this weekend and I told Christopher I'll get the ingredients and we can practice making them today so when Thanksgiving comes, we'll know just how to make them.
Christopher loved the idea so today after church we started making them. The ingredients are mini peanut butter cups, those fudge striped cookies, vanilla frosting with yellow food coloring. The original recipe calls for tiny orange chicklets but they, of course, are hard to find so we used orange Tic Tacs.
He had the job of opening the peanut butter cups. He got bored of that so he put the cups onto the frosting. Then he put the Tic Tacs on. And, of course when we were all finished, he had to sample the first one. MMMM, they are really good. We now know how to make them and they will be a snap to make for Thanksgiving.
If you're interested in making them with your kids, follow this link. While you're there, be sure to check out the other recipies. You'll be happy you did.
